At Niagarashorthairs our goal is to produce top quality puppies .

Our puppies are whelped and raised inside our home in a clean, safe and  warm environment.  This allows us the time to watch the development and to spend time socializing each puppy whether it be on our  laps while watching TV or some play time in the kitchen,  a very important part of starting a new pup as a family companion.

When choosing a sire for our breeding there are many important things to be considered with temperament being the first and most important.

Our puppies are not just sold as hunting dogs but also family companions that will have the ability to excel at all types of training and activities

Then we look closely at the traits we wish to produce and improve on. This is done with the help of the excellent record keeping of NAVHDA(North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association)

 Here, we can research possible sires. There records allow us to check the testing scores of all possible sires and the scores of any puppies that he has sired that were tested. The scoring allows us the ability to see the qualities of each dog along with a pedigree that shows us generations back of where the dogs came from and the quality of the  lines in there backgrounds helping us to chose the right sire anywhere in North America.
